Does the Doxy Original need to be charged before use?
No charging required. It plugs directly into a mains socket and runs at full power from the first moment. There is no battery to manage and no interruptions mid-session.
How loud is the Doxy Original during use?
The spec lists an operating range of approximately 65 to 80dB, which is audible. Blankets muffle it somewhat, but it is not a quiet toy. Factor that in if thin walls are a concern.
Is the Doxy Original waterproof?
No. The 2.0 update improved sealing against accidental moisture ingress, but it is not rated for submersion or shower use. Wipe it down rather than running it under water.
What lube works with the Doxy Original?
Water-based lubricant is the right choice. Silicone-based lube can degrade the silicone head over time, so stick with water-based for the head and body contact areas.
How does the Doxy Original differ from the Die Cast models?
The Original uses a lightweight ABS body, making it easier to hold and maneuver for longer sessions. The Die Cast models are heavier and metal-bodied. Same signature deep rumble, different feel in the hand.
Care Instructions
- Wipe the head and neck with a damp cloth and mild toy cleaner after each use.
- Never submerge: the Original is splash-resistant, not waterproof.
- Store loosely wrapped, away from direct heat and other toys.
